Application of Ultraviolet Rays in Air Purification Equipment

Ultraviolet rays are electromagnetic waves with a wavelength of 200-400nm, divided into the following 4 bands:

UVC (short-wave ultraviolet) is ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 200 to 280 nm (nanometers).

UVB (medium wave ultraviolet) is ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 280 to 320 nm.

UVA (Long Wave Ultraviolet) is ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 315~340nm.

UVA+ (Ultra Long Wave Ultraviolet) has the strongest penetrating power and can reach the dermis to tan the skin and cause the most damage to the skin.

Ultraviolet rays can be used for sterilization, and the ultraviolet band with sterilization and disinfection functions is 200-300nm. Namely UVC short-wave ultraviolet.

The wavelength of UVC band is 200～275nm, also known as short-wave sterilizing ultraviolet. The ultraviolet germicidal lamp emits short-wave UVC ultraviolet rays.

The penetration ability of UVC short-wave ultraviolet rays is the weakest, unable to penetrate most of the transparent glass and plastics. The short-wave ultraviolet rays contained in sunlight are almost completely absorbed by the ozone layer.

UVC sterilization principle:

After UVC irradiates the body, the link between nucleoprotein and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) will be broken and die immediately, which can effectively prevent the spread of bacteria and improve the efficiency of sterilization. It is an ideal and safe sterilization band.
